I have never seen any of this utilized other than on tvg and hrtv. Wow, thats innovative...market only to people who are already in the game.
Part of the problem is that horse racing, like boxing is generally a sport of those born before 1980 unless you grew up around it or have those close to you involved. unfortunately, most younger people are interested in MMA and other American sports.
My personal experience has been that most younger than 30 have no interest in traditional sports like baseball, boxing or horse racing. More has to be done to attract "fans" to not only the track, but the sport in general. The NTRA should allocate more funds for marketing. NTRA.com is awful and not updated. TVG did all the marketing for the BC.
NTRA does little to promote its stars both active and retired. For casual fans, the horses race then they retire. They have no clue about the breeding aspect of the game.
Recently, EVD had its most prestigious qh futurity (560k). There was absolutely nothing done by the local media, EVD, or the AQHA. EVD didnt even mention it on its website, yet the track was packed with people.
