11/28: Churchill ($55k C/O); Golden Gate ($350k C/O)
Huge Holiday Weekend winding down today, but not without some potential fireworks. Churchill has a mandatory payout P6 carryover that starts with $55k, and Golden Gate's sextet pool reached a shocking $350k when no one negotiated the skein again Saturday.
The explosions Saturday came on the track in the form of both bonus mutuels and eye-catching stakes babies. Tote shockers were delivered by Tagg's 35-1 Cigar Mile surprise Jersey Town and Harty's cycle-back Citation winner Victor's Cry (11-1). And while their trainees went postward as choices, Bill Mott and Ken McPeek got impressive efforts from their respective colt and filly. Charlotte Weber's To Honor and Serve wrapped up a nice juvenile campaign for Mott with a facile Remsen win that earned a 102 Beyer, and McPeek's Kathmanblu demolished the Golden Rod in faster time than Santiva in the KY JC.
Wagering was rolling along at Aqueduct until the late double derailed everything. Shug's Data Link started the Big A action off nicely keying a $115 triple and $360 super, before chalky results began lowering the exotics and multis. Today, let's help Churchill finishes its' fall meet and attack the mandatory pay P6. I'll take a budget swing at the Golden Gate bonanza sixas well...
