The idea is not to determine which was the best horse between the two. I feel sure the 3yo Fog would smoke the 3yo Bern at 6fl, and Bern would smoke Fog going two turns. The point I was trying to make is that Fog was severely criticised by many on several forums for "beating nothing". Why aren't those same folks saying the same about Bernardini? In fact, many of Fog's critics are hailing Barnardini as the next coming. From a purely objective point of view (Fog as a sprinter and Bernardini as a router), I see little difference between the success of their respective 3yo careers going into the BC races.
