It wouldn't be that much of a stretch to respond that, with NYRA, there's never any certainty that they'll actually run on the turf. I realize that scratching because the course is too hard, relatively, is essentially the same as scratching because the races were taken off the turf, a scratch is a scratch, after all, but the latter is a much higher degree of absurdity.
That so many turf races in this county (and WO) are won by frontrunners (and not just those setting ridiculously slow paces) pretty much indicates how much of a joke turf racing is here.
Unknown to those that run racetracks, is that GRASS GROWS BACK. Just run the races. If the courses get to the point where they begin to favor closers, that's fine, as that's the way turf races are supposed to run. It's not ****in' dirt racing: why try to make it that way?
