It is correct to say he will breed a more limited number of mares and as such they want them to be what they consider good matches. This is true....also, some farms use Private fees kind of like restaurants use "Market" price on fish and other meals....it gives them the right to vary their asking fee based on demand and risk assessments, which are generally figured by the mare's credentials and how well the farm feels that mares crosses with the stallion...
