You know what happens when you throw the deep ball?
* you put stress on the offensive line - and get more drive killing holding calls
* you get your QB banged up because the plays aren't always quick to develop and you have to step into your throws. Brady got KO'd for the season in '08 in game #1 on a deep ball to Moss. He ended up playing with several broken ribs last year. A lot of teams in Minny came out of the gate 5-0 and ended up with beat up qbs later in the year... which isn't good when your own D is swiss cheese.
* If you do strike and score a quick touchdown - and it only means that pile of sh!t New England defense on the sideline you have has to come out.
When you can complete 80+% of your passes to always wide open in space underneath reciever... have long clock grinding drives .. with a defense like the one the Pats have, that's better than trying to force quick scores.
If Moss leaves New England - this entire offense collapses. There is no one that can even remotely stretch a defense .. and guys like Wes Welker and the tight ends will struggle wildly because the space to work with won't be there. Danny Woodhead becomes worthless. This is a 6-10 team without Moss .. and a medicore offense that will utterly suck in the red area.
