True. They deserve credit for winning the big games they have in recent years (Oklahoma, Oregon, TCU, VA Tech, etc) but it is obviously a whole lot easier to get up for a couple of big games a year than it is to play the grinding season that SEC or Big 12 South teams have faced in recent years.
In those conferences you could beat the 3 teams that are
supposed to be the tough games and still lose a game to a solid team like Oklahoma St or Auburn. If Boise wins their 3 toughest games, they only have to beat poor WAC teams the rest of the way.
But still, it really is amazing that they have built a program like that given that they are in Idaho, have no tradition, and play in the WAC conference. Incredible. If they go undefeated, I hope they get a shot at the National Championship over a one-loss team from a major conference. They might not be better, but it would be cool to see them get a shot. If two teams emerge undefeated from one of the major conferences, however, they should obviously be picked over Boise.
