what do you expect. i was there and people were actually crying...no. i am not exagerating. i saw another guy throw stuff all around and kicking things. it was ugly. but you are right many of them don't have a clue about horse racing. thats the advantage all of us (racing geeks) have if we bet right. the only surprise for me, was the horse that won(i had rachel, life at ten and miss singhsix in pic 3's)....i was not the least surprised she did not make the last 50 yards or so. people live in this fantasy world when it comes to BIG horses...they actually believe they are larger than life and unbeatable. it happens in all sports. anyone that follows racing knew she would have a hard time yesterday, regauardless what the shills on TV said....win or lose. this horse runs very hard throughout the entire race. thats her weakness. she did so again yesterday and only sputtered at the very end. it was a brave effort and had nothing to do with calvin. the owners decisions along with the trainer are where the blame lays if there is any. but you won't see people yacking at them over there. the entire season for rachel has been a "spin" game. if you believe anything else then you have not been following racing as long as i have. "vulnerable favorite" is not in the peoples vocabulary that you speak of...they would rather bitch at the jockey.
