I live in the burbs and alot of the cooler things have moved towards the money per say. I have been down there my whole life, been to probably 25 Bear games, 150 Cubs games, ~20 Bulls game, couple DePaul (when Quentin was their and all their corruptness) and Wolves game. Got to see the Bulls once (Jordan) in the old Chicago stadium. Chicago thru and thru and I am going to start making my way down their more often. I always catch my eyes all over the place down there because their is so much to look at.....

I think taking your "home" city for granted is natural, unfortunately. I live a mere train ride away from NYC, but I've not done 1/2 the things there are to do there. I have to say that I fell head over heels for Wrigley Field; it's the most beautiful ballpark I've ever seen. I love Fenway (I'm choking as I type this, because I despise the Red Sox) and I think Yankee Stadium is a cathedral (just adore the place), but Wrigley has this real, old-time baseball feel to it. The new Yankee Stadium is going to look a lot like the old one, which will be nice; I'm a traditionalist.
I stayed in the Loop during my visit and I just had a blast; I would never stay any place else. I also had the two best meals of my life (Alinea and Tru) in Chicago...thank goodness is just a hop, skip and a jump from NY. Chicago shouldn't take a back seat to any city.
