There's a neighborhood kid around here that has been in a wheelchair for his whole life. He BLEEDS orange and black, probably more than I bleed Eagle green. He's been hospitalized with complications of his illness ever since the day after game 5 of the Bruins series. I bumped into his sister yesterday, and she said it seems like half the hospital watches the game in his hospital room. She told me that Timmy just KNOWS that this is their year. I'm inclined to think along those lines as well, esp. with Leighton transforming into a brick wall like he's been. |
It has been 21 years since I lived in the philadelphia area and the flyers are the only team I have stuck with from philly. I still have a Tim Kerr and Tochett jerseys laying around. It would be great to see a Blackhawks/Flyers cup. I can still remember as a little kid ripping a slapshot at the flyers carnival against Hextall. Bobby Clark lived in the neighborhood next door and had a pool shaped in the flyers logo. Hope this is the year, especially for your neighbor Timmy! It has been 35 long years!
