Getting there was easy as we just took a cab over the bridge and up the hill from the Metro stop but getting back into Paris was pretty problematic as we had to wander a few miles to find the train station heading back into the city.

Exactly my experience. Rode the metro to the Saint-Cloud station, took a bus up the hill. But going back there was no bus I could find, walked down the hill to the Metro station; fellow in the shop where I stopped to ask directions was concerned at how pale I looked. But I made it okay. Always been a wuss.
