What races indicate to you that this is the case? Bernardini rated rather willingly and easily in the Preakness, when he was about 5 lengths off the lead.......he was about 2 or 3 lengths off the lead in the Withers. Castellano sent him to the lead in the Jim Dandy because he was tons the best and didn't want to take any chances on a sloppy track.
Ateam, I thought I read that it was Castellano who chirped at Bernardini to take the lead in the Travers because he didn't want to get caught between horses, not that Bernardini was rank..........
