Thomas Jefferson is easily one of the least likable leaders of the American Revolution/Early Republic era (his penchant for stabbing his "friends" in the back being just one of many unpleasant characteristics) but at least he had the good sense to realize that Christianity was a load of crap.

"Question with boldness even the existence of a God..." has always been my favorite line from Jefferson.
