Regarding the NY TImes article, I THINK a lot of the facts that he used were based on tax reporting? I know that I give a lot to charity and don't deduct it from my taxes for my own reasons. I think Republicans though..ok..many Republicans...have dubious charity giving deductions for purely selfish financial gain. In other words, I don't trust or believe what they report. Also, if you eliminate Church donations, that tilts things the other way a bit.
