Had a bit of a shocker today, and really kicking myself for not picking Sirocco Breeze, as he was so obvious today..... and totally bypassed me!

Hopefully I can hope for a bit better tomorrow.

R1 - Gallagher (alt; Axiom), Awinnersgame (alt; Al Khaleej)
R2 - Dr Faustus (alt; Detonator), Stubbs Art (alt; King Of Rome)
R3 - Oasis Star (alt; Global City), Sir Gerry (Montpellier)
R4 - Naval Officer (alt; Jaroslaw), Falcativ (alt; Firebet)
R5 - Consul General (alt; Eagle Mountain), Cat Junior (alt; Stoic)
R6 - Justenuffhumor (alt; Ibn Battuta), Ibn Khaldun (alt; Bankable)
R7 - Roman Republic (NAP) (alt; Don Velez), Red Rock Canyon (alt; Thaky)

Really fancy Gallagher tomorrow after a promising first run in Dubai, sure to come on for that. Verging on group class in Englans he looks very well handciapped here. The draw is a massive worry though. Looking to take on Secrecy big time here, the drop in trip is the last thing he wants, he has to carry top weight and everyone got carried away with the weak handicap he won easily at Newmarket. I think he's a lay. Al Khaleej looks sure to run well without being good enough to win.

Dr Faustus is probably going to be overpriced in the second, he's weighted very nicely here and with the step up in trip to suit as well, I think he'll run a big race at a nice price. Stubbs Art is one of the best handicapped horses on the card, and this step up in trip could see him in a much better light (not that long ago he was beaten just over a length by Twice Over over a similar trip), he is very interesting!

I'm giving both Oasis Star and Naval Officer another chance in the next two races. If they both perform to their best level, I think both will be too good. Cannot be too confident, however. Falcativ is unbeaten on synthetics and a danger to all off this kind of handicap mark.

It's hard to forget Consul General's run last time, and he might just be able to come out on top in a competitive race. He's a great horse to have, he always tries and there aren't too many miles on the clock. Cat Junior is sure to win one of these races soon, and I cannot ignore his obvious ability, even though he hasn't won a race since his debut. He's shown a lot of ability and this sort of race could well be his for the taking.

The next is a cracker. And a good chance can be given to many. I'm most looking forward to seeing Ibn Khakdun for the first time in a very long time. He wouldn't need to be 100% to wrap these up, but a watching brief today, with the American miler looking best..... but hard to tell. I'd love to see Ibn Battuta run a big race, being out of a mare I've had plenty to do with, a real sweetheart and fantastic racemare herself, but unfortunately had to be put down last summer (RIP Sulk) .

The last contains the best handicapped horse we are likely to see during the carnival in my opinion, and if fit enough I can see this going only one way...... Roman Republic
