Granted maybe it's not the best day for it. But after all the bitchin, moanin and complaining that this is never going to happen. Guess what, it looks like it's going to finally happen (although I'll still believe it when I see it). Who cares if it was a freakin Tuesday? The fans who want to see it, will go out of their way to see it reguardless when it happens. The rest of the mainstream public who might care, will watch it if they happen to be around a TV whether it was a Saturday, Sunday or whenever. Those people aren't canceling their weekend plans to watch the Breeders Cup, let alone a single race (even though it will most likely be the race of the year).
Give Cella credit for making it come together. If you think about it, it's kind of a brilliant buisness decision. He's most likely guarenteed another big gate for his track, the day before it's priemre event.
I personally think there should be more outcry about the Breeders Cup Friday card. Holding that on a Friday is an injustice to horseplayers/fans. That's a day of great racing and more importantly tremendous betting opportunities.
This is just the Race of the Year we are talking about. Everyone wants to see it so badly, who cares when they have it? Just as long as they have it.
