It is fairly obvious that Alaska with its minute population and wealth of natural resources would ask that companies that are making tens of billions off of those resources share a tiny sliver with the citizens. Only a completely partisan person like Riot or Dala would try to make this out to be a anti-business or bad thing. What appeals to me about the law is the people get the money directly as opposed to just straight taxes that the govt gets to chew up.
