He had 3 different knee surgeries and two different stomach operations for colic during his racing career.
When he won his debut - Iggy Puglisi rode him and he won at 38/1 odds while racing very erratic. He was off 9.5 months when he won his 2nd of those six HP races - it was a very impressive race as he dueled head to head through 21 2/5 and 44 flat fractions and drew off while still outfinishing closers.
When he won the Grade 3 stake with the 122 Beyer in his 3rd HP race - he didn't race again for more than 14 months after that.
Very underated talent.

I can't claim to have known that off the top of my head - I was like 12 or 13 when he was running and had been to the track exactly one time at that point. . .
