Even though the $26 horse was the longest shot on the board, he was very logical. He was just coming off a win 6 days earlier where he drew off and won by widening lengths going 6.5f. It was a conditioned claimer and this was an open claimer for the same price, so he was stepping up a tad, but not that much for this track (I could be slightly off on some of these facts, I'm going by memory which is not good). Even a dumbass like me included him without much thought.
I was stunned that he paid $26. I think it was more of a case of the $26 horse being drastically overlaid in the win pool but was used properly in the P4 pools.
