I would go back to the the last one day format used, adding only a juvenile turf race open to both sexes. All juvenile races should be a mile and one-sixteenth, subject to track configuration.

Purses should be what the BC can afford--I have no idea.

IF (and only if) the BC were to adopt CD (or Belmont--unlikely) as its permanent home, I would strongly consider keeping the dirt mile, with a purse in line with the other BC races (and a Grade 1 rating), because a one-turn mile IS a classic race in this country, for which there are already two open Grade 1s. It might also encourage more of these races at the tracks configured to run them (BEL, AQU, GP, CD, ARL and CNL), which would suit me just fine, because I love them. The Cigar Mile might have to be moved to Belmont and run as part of the BC preps there, however.

I am agnostic about a turf sprint. Are there any Grade 1 turf sprints in the US? If not (and I don't think there), let's not invent one just for the sake of doing so.
