I like the Yanks and A's to win the first round, and quite frankly don't think it matters which one of plays which one. They both will get AL Central teams, and its like 6 of one and a half dozen of the other.
I think you have a smart bet and I like it. Betting the Yanks in the first round won't make you squat, but betting the A's might.
As far as the Yanks go I realize you are trying to bust balls but even little kids can see that Torre is pitching guys who couldnt even pitch all that well down on the farm in Columbus and has been alternating resting starters.
The Yanks won that division a long time ago and if you think they care that they won the division you are wrong. They have been in winning World series mode for weeks now, and if you think they are playing full out you are crazy.
Its about being well rested and in good shape for the post season, Torre is doing his job. His biggest concern this week is the play of Sheff and Matsui to evaluate where they stand for the post season.
