I dont give any credence to bitter academics.
I would bet that the average scores of the general student population of ND is higher than big state schools. While they may not be as stringent academically as they try to pretend they are, ND doesnt seem recruit the really questionable guys like most other big schools.
And as long as NBC wants them they arent any different than the Pac 10, Big 10 or SEC who keep blocking a playoff because they dont want to share the money they currently monopolize.
