Manuel lost that game by starting Blanton instead of Lee. I don't give a damn if he's never started on three days' rest, he is FAR AND AWAY your best pitcher, and is now unavailable for the rest of the series even if they get by tonight. I know Blanton wasn't terrible and big surprise, Lidge is a choker, but if Lee starts last night I bet it's 2-2, and then you can bring Lee back for Game 7 instead of having to pitch Hole Camels.
One thing I'll say about Girardi, and I've said plenty of negative things, he beats Manuel in one area, and that's his willingness to adjust. Manuel set his rotation in stone before the series, Girardi didn't, and it's the difference in the series.
