Default 53 Years One Employer, 54 Years One Wife, RIP

A really dear friend of mine, whom I have gotten to know well over the last 10years or so passed away this past Friday from his short battle with cancer. I had a short discussion with some folks who have known him longer then me no doubt about how times have changed.

This man got a job and stayed with it for 53 years. He married a woman and was by her side for 54 years. They bought a home, and made it a home. Raised a family. They loved their kids and provided, their kids have now gone on and raised families of their own.

Just kinda struck me I guess. Here is a man who held a job and was married to the same, for all intents and purpose the same 5 decades.

RIP my friend, and wow how times have changed. The short time I spent with his loving wife who stood by him thru good times and bad no question left me with a better sense of what love is about thru our short conversation Friday evening.

A man gets a job and keeps it for 5 decades. A man falls in love and they stand together thru good times and bad for 5 decades.

Feels good to know that their are folks like this in the world.
