I agree with your contention if FC still enjoys racing. If he is sour on racing than I think they should do the right thing and give him a nice field to graze in and make him happy. He obviously can still be competitive in lower level events. It's just a matter of convincing the owners of that.

It's easy to read between the lines when B Tagg talks about Funny Cide. On ATRAB he talked about finally having the horses head on straight and wanting to put him in a lower level stake but the owners wanted to enter him in the Pimlico Special. He than went on to talk about how wonderful the Jacksons (Showing Up's owners) are and how they put trust in him to train Showing Up the way he thinks is best. It sounds like a constant battle with FC owners when it comes to where to enter the horse. What a pain in the ass when you're trying to do right for the horse. At this point they should what they think will make FC the happiest. He's earned it.
