Phil, go to www.frenchlickresort.com and check out the Pete Dye Course. A buddy of mine qualified for the PGA National Club Pro Championship next July that is gonna be held at this course. Look at the yardage and slope from the back tees  Look at the scoredcard...300 yard par 3

But doesn't a 300 yd par 3 officially eliminate the "long iron" from the game. So if your not hitting a wood off the tee your not getting 2 putts for par. When the PGA starts playing 300 yd Par 3's it will be a dark day for the game.
