Thanks Bob
As a typical democrat in Marin County i find it quite interesting on the constant attacks from the Far Right. Here one is kind of isolated amongst 90% or more democrats so it is also easy to hide within that large majority. This Board does have a very vocal Republican slant which is just fine. No problems with that. But, i find it also interesting the name calling and when on the occassion that the Far Right is called out on something the typical response is to step up their attacks even more. The previous administration was one of arrogance and no compromise. Obama was elected with a huge majority and is trying to push thru an aggressive legislation. I think Obama has done a good job of listening to others and even appointing a few Republicans to his administration. The re-election of Bernanke was quite a surprise actually.
Anyway, my feeling is why do i want to be part of a party with the Religious Right in it.... I can flippantly say we suffered with 8 years of people like VP Dick and now the Republicans can see what it felt like now that Obama is in power. In reality, everything right now is talk and until legislation is passed everyone needs to calm down a little.
