The Yanks have beaten the Tigers 5 of the 7 times they've played them this year. Each of their losses were games blown in the 9th inning, both times when Mariano Rivera was unavailable. Kyle Farnsworth blew a game in Detroit and Scott Proctor recently blew the 2nd half of a double header by giving up a 3 run homer. Overall the Tigers do not scare me either.
White Sox??? Not overly worried either.
The A's are the Yanks biggest challenge. They're having an excellent season and I'm hoping to see this matchup in the ALCS. The winner there is your World Series winner.
The National League sucks. The World Series is going to be the equivalent of having Henny Hughes vs. Zippy Chippy in a 6 F match race.

The Twins two pitchers can make problems for anyone in a short series. The White Sox though clearly would be the team to beat in the AL if they get in.
The Mets have a shot at the AL team, if they can blow through the NL with a rested pitching staff. El Duque will be a nightmare for anyone they face. That guy will throw 3 games if necessary and will be big in all three. With the Mets bats and speed, they can compete with anyone. They are built for playoff baseball. Their starting pitching is a question but their relief is as good as any AL team, probably better.
The White Sox will win it all though if they get in.
