It really is that simple. And the answer as to why he doesnt?
A. Because there is no way the cavs or anyone else will pay him that much.
B. Because he is a "character guy" and so is his agent.

c. Because that would perhaps keep Cleveland from adding another FA which would cost him his best chance at a championship ring. Maybe they told him if you opt out we'll sign Rasheed and let you go? Maybe he doesn't want to call their bluff and take a chance in the worst FA market in years that he can get the same money?
