The syndication of Secretariat would have been a big move for anyone, much less the young Seth Hancock, who had not been in charge for very long. After Sunday Silence won the Derby, Arthur Hancock supposedly said that Ogden Phipps had taken away his dream of running Claiborne, so now he had taken away Phipps' dream of winning the Derby.
