i can think of lot easier ways to achieve power, money, prestige and exclusivity. Remember-undergrad, med school, residency, blah, blah blah...thats a lot of school and a lot of work.
Why wouldnt they just go trade bonds?

I just don't think very many are doing it for the satisfaction of helping sick people. As far as banking goes, I don't remember that as one of the main professions that kids are told "the brightest" go into.
