Could it be that this guy had a very big following and
was catered to by her party? I would be embarrassed
if the party I was associated with actually took this
guy seriously enough to let him and his group have a
big say in the Repubican platform. I think they even
wanted him to speak at one Republican convention...

Republicans courted his group. I think this is a much
bigger embarrassment than Liberals courting the Union
vote.
