Handicapping is too hard for the average American. It requires thinking, as opposed to slots, which just eat your money and give you shiny lights and noise with no effort required. But Freddymo, if you're opposed to slots on the grounds that gambling takes people's money, then you can't also support racing because it does the same thing. If you would, I'd like to see some stats to back up your assertion that slots at racetracks are costing states money due to the slots being responsible for sending oodles of people onto state welfare rolls.
