I'm thinking Music Note is using this race as a prep. Or, more precisely, her connections are. This distance seems short and it is off the layoff.
As for her running even close to last year, Seattle Smooth whipped Proud Spell last year, and I'm sure you recall Proud Spell's races with Music Note.
I don't really care about Seventh Street getting an easy lead last time either. I think she's a better horse than anything else in this race.

I think Seattle Smooth is a mirage, but given the others in the field, she will probably be third. I do agree that this isn't Music Note's best distance, but she is potentially so much better than these that it probably won't matter. And, you're right, Seventh Street is better than the others.
