With people struggling to get by their answer to our problems is to tax everyone more here, particularly the rich, increase tolls and transit costs on people who can afford to spend more. Instead of reducing spending and cutting waste in a recession, these morons increase taxes and increase spending and continue to spend on utter waste. Our Governor just may be the dumbest most unqualified Governor in the history of this country and has made wrong move after wrong move since being sworn in.
I am not surprised at what Golisano is doing, nor can I blame him and in the long run these idiots in Albany are going to shoot themselves in the foot and ultimately take in less tax revenue than they did prior to the tax increases. Those who have worked really hard to be successful are going to flee New York and are going to live in places where politicians can keep spending and taxing at reasonable levels, elminate waste and appreciate the large amounts of tax money the wealthy already contribute to government without trying to insult them by penalizing them for working hard to make a lot of money.
Gales is right, the real big problem right now is that Wall Street will no longer be a large source of revenue for New York as electronic advances have made the floor itself obsolete eliminating the need for people to be here in New York to play the market. The only possible silver lining is that the Democrats are destroying this state so badly that they may hand a landslide victory to a struggling Republican party who will have the golden opportunity to try to reverse New York's problems by cutting taxes and spending.
