The ankle is probably still warm today, and he's probably still grade 1 lame on his flexion (although he was reported sound on his non-flexion walk).
He had negative rads and ultrasound, and because most minor (short term rest) things can be seen there - and were not - pretty much all that's left is things that will result in some significant time off. Have to see what they find on the MRI.
