To be honest, this whole circus makes me wonder just a little bit about Dunkirk, as no sane person would choose Pioneer of the Nile over Dunkirk for this race, unless there's an untold story. Now, the untold story could be a number of things ( use your imagination ), but the fact that it's being dragged out like this has to make you wonder.
But, there is no reason for Team Zayat to be annoyed, as there are very capable riders without Derby mounts that they could have already signed up to ride Pioneer of the Nile.

Yeah, you'd have to be an idiot to choose the lone multiple Grade I-winner in the field who's bred for the distance and dirt, and who has won four straight graded stakes, defeating the winners of the Wood, Gotham, El Camino, Cal Derby, and Ark Derby in the process.
And the fact that he's trained by a three-time Derby winner just adds to the lunacy.
