Pegram and Baffert, they started with cheaper stock as I recall too. I know horses like Real Quiet were dirt cheap for $17,000. Shall we ask Bob why he'd get Mike to buy his way into the Derby with a horse Baffert nicknamed "the Fish" when even up til Derby dfay he expected Indian Charlie to be his boy that year? No $5 mil for a TC prospect off of a maiden romp for a stallion prospect. If anything, folks dissed Baffert because he was a hotshot California "dude" and Pegram got eye rolls for naming horses things like Isitingood. If Pegram bought a horse for the Derby this week I wouldn't care. In fact I'd probably find it interesting to have him joining in. Those guys grew on me, I kinda like'em now. Pegram's into Ronald McDonald House.

I realize the IEAH boys are doing stuff for charity too but geez, do they have to buy every horse in town, and grab another when one doesn't pan out? It tells me they need to do a better job picking. It's not like they're all getting hurt. They just end up not being good enough. Every other week "IEAH buys...." Ugh. What are they going to do with them in the end? They can breed Stardom Bound to Big Brown like they said, but I think Patena would object to that. He was a cutie, I hope he does well.
