Usually when a graded stakes race changes surface (comes off of the turf) it loses it graded status for that running. So is the graded stakes committee saying that turf and synthetic are the same surface or am i reading too much into this?
I got the following RSS from Bloodhorse.
"The Feb. 16 Buena Vista Handicap, moved from the turf to Santa Anita's synthetic racing surface due to inclement weather, had its grade II status reinstated by the American Graded Stakes Committee."
