All I ever AI'd were Arabian mares, most of them so average I considered it a waste of decent semen. AI can homogenize a breed genetically pretty quickly, it sure can have it's downsides (see your breed, Standardbreds).
I don't necessarily disagree with TJC being the last bastion of live cover.

I think it's cool, too and look forward to following how this progresses. I have the utmost respect for the vets at A&M. They were awesome when my yearling filly was there for stem cell therapy. We were blessed it worked for us.
