the case I was thinking of was a local one. Guy breaks into house while homeowner is away. Among things stolen are a set of house keys. Bad guy comes back to take more stuff using the keys. Homeowner home, wakes up and shoots him this time. Guy lives gets charged and homeowner gets arrested for having a handgun in house violating local laws. Kinda violates the constitition but think the supreme court either wouldn't hear the case or ruled for the town. Was kind of a ghetto town though Wilmette, IL bad lake view and all.
