fg fan.... gotta question for ya....

at the mile distance there is a obvious advantage on the inside....

what about when it is wet????? I really like uno mas and indygo mountain but the 19% inside posts and ZERO % post 8+ last week for the distance is a little threatening....

I have never been down there in the rain .... so your input is very highly appreciated....
Well that's a bit of a tough question. For the most part the track plays pretty fairly wet or dry, it is a sand, silt base so it can take alot of moisture, and if the rain comes in the am as they are saying can dry out very quickly. They will start where they finish on this race, so that long, long stretch doesn't apply on this race.
Interesting you bring this up as a buddy of mine there and I have been discussing there is only spot that seems to bog up and it is right about the 16th pole. Prior to Katrina that never seemed to happen, we don't know if this is a result of the flooding and how they drained it, but we have noticed it. But it is where the race ends.

Don't know if that really answers your questions, I would say this though I would place your bets later as the day progresses and see how the rain is moving thru.

I'll give an update on the weather tomorrow, but they are now saying 60% chance of rain but in the am, news is coming on now.

And here's a link to the interactive radar for NOLA, the Fairgrounds is in the triangle of the 610 and 10, if you zoom in close enough you can see the fairgrounds, it's east or right of the big park, city park.
