Too bad the State of Delaware won't contract this out to legitimate gaming companies to open a proper bookmaking operation. Las Vegas books have been criticized in recent years for their conservative sportsbook operations, but at least you can walk in make a straight wager. Serious sports bettors are straight bettors. Some will make parlays in certain situations, but generally they are single game bettors. I can see these places mobbed with 25 year old males betting small time $5 and $10 6 teamers. In my opinion, this will not generate the revenue they are hoping for. If they truly want to maximize their revenues, they need to open a legitimate sportsbook, and compete with the offshores and local bookmakers. I live in the Philadelphia area and would surely drive to Delaware to wager on some games I like. I will not however make the drive if I'm forced to parlay.
