I'd want to distance myself from Blago as much as possible, but it's hard to believe that something wasn't said at all about it (either by himself, or by someone else on his behalf). The problem is that his people, hopefully not him, are going to end up right in the middle of it.
From what I got in the indictment, person #1, a female, I figure is Valerie Jarrett. If so (which I don't know 100% for certain), Obama wanted her to fill his seat, which would be perfectly fine. That's why Blago went off and was so upset that Obama, or someone talking to him on Obama's behalf, didn't want to pay to put her in (which is a good thing on Obama's part, and Blago being ticked at him for it is a very good thing for Barack... because that means Barack didn't want to be a part of the pay to play scheme). It also wouldn't have made Axelrod contradict himself, which makes it be that either Barack or Axelrod's not telling the truth... which my $$ would be on Axelrod.
He also could have said, if it were true, that he himself didn't talk to Blago, but had someone talk to him on his behalf.... which if true, would put even more distance between them, as he would only communicate to him thru one of his people and didn't want to have anything to do with him, as I totally believe he had to know about the firestorm about to hit Blago ahead of time.
