When a talented football team replaces a good coach with a bad one, it usually takes until the 2nd season after for the skill level of the team as a whole to erode. The drop off really isnt that significant and doesnt need to be in the NFL for a team to go from title contender to out of the playoffs.
Look how many close games the Chargers have lost this year. Is it just "bad luck"? Its not. Its the difference in effort and execution. Teams literally learn how to lose.
I have seen this movie before. Norv is a fine offensive coordinator but a terrible head coach. Guys simply dont play for him.
