Throwing a game away is never smart in a league this competitive. They could have traded him for a conditional 7th rounder to a team that needed a backup. I'm sure Dallas wishes they'd done that at this point.

Chad didn't want any part of being a backup, and in recognition of his contributions to the team, the Jets cut him loose so he could go attempt to find a starting job. Putting that on par with Count Al giving a big contract to DeCancerlo Hall is weird.
