any appointment she made would be challenged in hours. but regardless, if begich can't beat a convicted felon, he won't beat palin in a special election.
and she'd have to run. trading alaska governor for alaska senator is a no brainer.

well, i like that idea better of having a special election. alaskans can just save themselves the time, trouble and expense by voting for the opponent. but we shall see.
