I think the first thing I learned is not all synthetics are the same. To say there are three surfaces; dirt, synthetic, and grass is misleading as there's different types of each.
I don't mind synthetic and now that Keeneland has had it for a while, I know how to play it, just like any surface.
Once I got a grip on how the proride played (Hard to win on the lead) I capped accordingly and did very well.
