Isolated incidents like this occur in any conflict...they aren't right, an affront to decency and, as you say, stupid...but they happen! Absurd? Really? here's a bit more from the story... remember it took 3 weeks to release him. They knew who this guy was and who he wasn't in a day. They used him as a bargaining chip. For what? A better price on pistachios? It took the Israeli SUPREME COURT to get this guy released. That's what is absurd.

He laughed at the idea that the common names had anything to do with it.
