If it was match play against the best men, she'd not last long if at all. The best golfers, even Tiger, can have bad days...he missed the cut in the Open (obviously there was a reason) but he missed the cut! Wie drives over 300 yards, that means that physically she is on a man's level in golf, that's like a woman hitting Nolan Ryan's fastball over the center field fence...I bet if a woman comes along who can do that, she'd be playing in the majors! If a woman can fly down the lane and complete a 360 degree slam over Shaq, she'll be in the NBA! You are taking a single unbelievable talent...a freak of nature...and using her to discredit a sport, that's not fair! The average pro woman's golfer cannot compete against the men, and the average older pro goes on the senior tour...ever notice how they dominate there the first few years they are eligible?
But the thing is...you dont have to be a great athlete to play golf at the highest levels. What other "sport" can you say that about? Would anybody confuse John Daly or Ken Perry with even being marginal "athletes"?

Now, can you name me an NBA player that isnt at least a marginal athlete? Even one. The truth is...you cant. How about hockey player? Or football player? Or soccer player? Or tennis player?

What other "sport" can you play where you can be drunk before the game is halfway over? In what other "sport" can an "athlete" like John Daly smoke cigarettes like a chimney WHILE he is playing?

What do golfers do that would be deemed an "athletic" endeavor? Do they run? Jump? lift? does it take good reflexes? quickness of foot? heck- they dont even carry their own bags anymore and one guy can even ride around in a cart!!!

Sure, it takes an amazing amount of skill to play golf. I play. But is it any more of a "sport" than archery?
